VOLCANOES, LAKES, ARAUCARIAS, etc... (Cont'd !)
(South CHILE)
(New trip to South Chile - December 3 to 31, 2013)
(see here our 2008 trip and here our 2012 trip)
(See map and practical information here)
We were told there was no "tavanos" on Chiloé :
the sun being firmly anchored in the sky, this was the ideal opportunity to go and check !
(Chiloé is very well known for its tormented skies and its very high humidity...)
The Chiloé National Park, accessed through Cucao, was our first destination.
The campground is superb, right on the lake, a few steps from the ocean.

Then we went to the East Coast, in front of the Cordillera : we were not disappointed !
We selected the little village of Tenaún,
where is located one of the 16 wooden churches of Chiloé, classified as a National Monument of Chile,
as well as part of UNESCO World Heritage
