2 days : attempt on Cotopaxi (5897 m)
This mountain is truly beautiful...

And if it happens to be hidden in the clouds, and you cannot see it, look in the stores : you will see it everywhere. |
We then made an attemp to ascend it.
| The sunset, seen from the José Ribas hut, was a delight...

... white the Iliniza puts on a silk veil... |
Strange mixtures of matter - and colors - in the morning light. |
It is said that Cayambe and Antisana are seldom visible : we were lucky ! |
All in all, the ascent of Cotopaxi is not as straightforward as people say : there is a path only in the beginning, and the snow on the glacier is quite hard, and mixed with stones.
It is said that the last part is steeper, but I did not reach it... I was a bit short-breathed...
