Bus transfer (free)
to the second bus stop : the Refugio Pudeto (Watch
out : contrary to the indication of the LP guide " Trekking
in the Patagonian Andes " 02/98, there is no new refugio, but
only a very basic hut. Free camping is allowed. Toilets near the bus stop.
Water in the toilets). This bus stop is by the boarding area of the catamaran
boats going to the Refugio Lago Pehoe.

A short walk (1 h) from the Refugio Pudeto will take you on the shore of lake Nordenskjöld, where we have a fantastic view towards the Cuernos del Paine. A great little walk, not to be missed (and without the rucksack !) (Have I already mentionned the wind ?). |

One must take a
short detour to see the Salto Grande, where the water from
the lake Nordenskjöld fall into the lake Pehoe (and one must brace
against the very strong wind - but maybe I have mentioned that before...)
