FROM THE QUEBRADAS TO THE SALARS...
(Trip through North West Argentina - June 17/ July 20 2010)
(see here our 2001 trip)
July 11 to 13, 2010 : Laguna de los Pozuelos.
The "campground", totally desert, is a true paradise - yet a bit cold at night (altitude 3600 m)... |
|
Red flamengos and many other birds live around the laguna. |
|
Domestic llamas herds also graze in the vast extent around the laguna. |
|
And also wild vicunas, light and graceful, but very shy |
|
We even saw a few nandus, a kind of small ostrich. |
Next to the laguna, a few rare farms, where llamas and sheep are raised.
At the end of the day, we spent hours storing up on the light and heat of the last sunrays
